PSNZ member Richard Bailey has received three Honorable Mentions in the recently announced International Photography Awards (IPA) competition which is affiliated to the distinguished Lucie Foundation. The mission of the IPA is “To salute the achievements of the world’s finest photographers, to discover new and emerging talent, and to promote the appreciation of photography”. This year’s entries spanned 103 countries with approximately 15,000 submissions. Jurors had the challenging task of reducing that number to 330 winners and 21 Finalists and according to the IPA rulings “the judges award Certificates of Honorable Mention to acknowledge talent as they see fit.” The recipients of the Honorable Mentions will also get their name included in the high quality IPA annual book. Richard’s images ‘Erakor Lagoon’ and ‘Entrance to Gulf Harbour’ were successful in the Landscape, Non Professional category and ‘Waitemate Harbour’ in the Cityscapes, Non Professional category. As a newcomer to the field of international competitions Richard is extremely thrilled to have gained the Mentions and will be aiming even higher in next year’s competition.
